The D•CAN Gen2 addressable gas or oxygen detector monitors explosive, or toxic gases, or oxygen for industrial and commercial applications. Connected to the S.Vx or S.Lx control units, it can activate air extractors, sirens, and other safety systems. Read more
The D•CAN, a catalytic or electrochemical explosive gas detector for toxic gases and oxygen with CAN bus (addressable), is designed for monitoring gas concentration levels in underground parking lots, laboratories, and commercial or industrial buildings.
It is designed to operate in conjunction with a compatible alarm control unit (S•Vx or S•Lx) to react before the gas concentration reaches dangerous thresholds.
The main detectable gases are:
(This list is not exhaustive.)
The D•CAN CA is a catalytic gas detector designed to detect the presence of explosive gases in surrounding air at concentrations up to 100% of the Lower Explosive Limit. In a catalytic explosive gas detection system, alarm thresholds must be set relative to the Lower Explosive Limit of the gas to be detected. Alarm thresholds for explosive gases are typically 20% LEL for the first alarm level (A1) and 40% LEL for the second level (A2). These thresholds are managed by the alarm control panel.
The D•CAN EC is a CAN bus electrochemical toxic and oxygen gas detector whose measurement range corresponds to the full scale measurement value (PPM, % vol.) i.e., the highest gas concentration that can be measured.
D•CAN detectors are smart gas detectors equipped with a microcontroller. They use a gas sensor whose signal is amplified and converted by the electronic circuit into a digital signal representing the concentration of the gas or oxygen in the detector's atmosphere. This digital signal is transmitted to the alarm control unit via a CAN (Controller Area Network) communication bus, to which all other CAN bus detectors in the gas detection system are also connected in series.
The new generation of D•CAN detectors, the D•CAN Gen2, are equipped with a multicolor LED indicator to inform the user of a potential danger related to the monitored gases (RED) or of any fault (YELLOW). Otherwise, the detector reassures the user with a GREEN flash.
The D•CAN detector consists of a flame-retardant plastic housing (UL 94 V-0) that is dustproof and water-jet-proof (IP65), and one or two Ex-certified cable glands. It also has a detection head and a terminal block connector mounted on a printed circuit board.
The D•CAN CAN bus gas or oxygen detector is designed for commercial and industrial buildings, laboratories, or underground parking lots requiring multiple sensors.
This product is suitable for use in areas where an explosive atmosphere is unlikely to occur during normal operation or only for short periods of time.
